Not having financial freedom doesn't exactly give many options, does it?

I'd obviously still change a lot of things, but the end result wouldn't be hugely different relatively speaking.

Yeah, I legit don't understand this thread. Of course they are.

IMO NIO is the real deal, and I'm hedging most of my IRA on it playing out as such over the next 4 years. Chinese market is massive and they might be profitable by EOY. Getting to the next level after that might be hard, but they have a lot of tech.

Unfortunately, I pretty much hate most companies so I can't apply principles. Wall Street is a dirty, filthy place that saps all morals. All most can hope for is to come out of it well enough to retire early, never mind the debris.

You're doing fine, though I don't have the stomach for crypto. As long as you aren't putting up loses or bleeding on margin, that makes you a wise investor. Compare this to me missing out on cashing out on Fisker's post-Foxconn bump...got a bit too greedy, it didn't make the jump to where it should have, and my potential gains got completely ruined by a mostly Red February. Now I'm waiting for it to go back to its peak so I can offload the warrants and shares and engage in dirty profit-taking games.

Still don't quite understand how they made a profit,

They didn't back when I was considering it. Don't know about their financials now, but it's all a scam. Almost at $70 now, ROFL.

I'm heavily into EVs and February was a really, really bad month for growth stocks. Apparently the worst since the Dot Com bust. They'll recover, but I have to roll my eyes at TWTR outperforming - strike price wise - my entire portfolio atm. That'll correct itself long-term for sure, but is annoying.

I have full understanding of the taxes, risks etc involved

Got it. Echo your same sentiments about WSBets btw, there's no point in visiting it. For a while it was just being spammed by a few users for some Matrix chat room, think it got cut down on, but either the experience was lackluster.

I wanted to short Twitter a while back, when it was originally bloated at ~$40. It dropped all the way down to ~$15, but I don't invest on margin and so didn't capitalize on it.

Are you doing this in an IRA account? It doesn't sound like you're investing much money, but you can't take advantage of capital gains tax unless you hold onto positions for 12 months or something like that; depending on your income bracket, that might be bad.

This is a good article, especially near the middle to end, about the rhetoric that we can likely expect from pro-reparationists on these types of efforts. I recommend reading it in full.

What are your thoughts?

If you're willing and have the wherewithal, go for it. What's the worst that can happen?

This judge is a real piece of work.

"I have concluded that the respondent's behaviour is dictated by his world view. Everything else is subordinate to that view, including, but not limited to, his love for his children," the decision by Justice King read.

I respectfully disagree. For a super "straight" club, it had a lot of lesbians coming out of the wood works. A lot. There were a fair share of 'LGBT guys' too, but the lesbians were a very large group.

And, coincidentally, people unironically went out of their way to distinguish 'good' feminism from the 'bad'. When these comments were being made, the only satire being bandied about was rape and how 'heteronormativity' is a minority.

As a whole, I agree, most 'normal' Plebbitors went sight-seeing for the novelty. But the subreddit was clearly getting astro-turfed, and I think even harder after I last visited it.

Pretty sure they were comments, but you have too many to dig through. Here are a few example posts, skimming your history:

Worse halves is a good phrase, but crow-barred here.

The comments were where you're - probably intentionally - being overly flippant, underscoring "X done by women" is bad because they're women, when you should be seeking out a behavioral or societal pattern and underscoring that, and ignoring all the other fluff.

Stuff like how the Wuhan Flu happened and it's women who are the most oppressed is great. Classics like unfairness of divorce proceedings, prison sentence disparity (including pedophilia), employer-based affirmative action despite them being basically half the fucking population, bad-faith equal pay arguments, etc.? Also great.

There were a few really scathing comments made by other posters on the fraud that is feminism; unfortunately I didn't save them so I'd have to dig thorough old threads to find them but they were extremely effective to any non-completely brainwashed audience. Your reviving that TERF rad-fem shit? Brilliant, fits along those lines perfectly.

There should be a pretty blatant connection from the example to the ugliness of the man-hating agenda that is feminism. If you see Antonio arguing with you, chances are you've left too many holes in your argument, intentionally or otherwise, which is no good. I'd stay away from that or present an iron-clad case.

fully embracing identity politics ("I'm a black female superbi")

Ah, I see. Good point. Another user also pointed out:

They had a pinned post about raising money for rape survivors. Female only, ofc. The comments were eating it up, praising how "woke" they were with zero self reflection they were just doing the same exclusionary patterns as the ctrl-left re: men.

I don't recall seeing that, maybe I missed it or it was put up after I last browsed it, but tons of red flags all over the place.

Would have been nice if it just stuck to the satire.

I didn't downvote you, but the subreddit had nothing to do with race. I never saw anything about that during my time. Whatever your thoughts are on interracial relationships or media agenda, it's an easy way for a subreddit to be banned. If anyone wants to oppose that, Reddit is 100% the wrong platform. Even as parody, it'll be shutdown super quick -- there's not much twisting you can do on the topic.

The whole biological sex-based semi-parody focus was doomed for failure too, of course, because even if that was allowed, there were a lot of comments while I was browsing on /new/ that explicitly stated that trans men and women are not men and women. That assertion of gender is definitely not allowed on Reddit. It's why the subreddit creators went out of their way to say that trans mxn and womxn are mxn and womxn (or something along those lines).

Maybe they'll successfully contest the ban, but the community was waaay too active for there not to be "hateful comments" (hate as defined by Reddit, of course), and there was visible TERF activity as has been acknowledged in multiple places -- including 1 of TheDonald threads covering the ban -- so I don't expect any permanence since liberal Reddit admins need nebulous excuses to get rid of what they don't like.

Lastly: having this (super straight) sort of content on places like the WIN platform is completely pointless. It HAS to be on Plebbit or other mainstream media, pushing their own rhetoric against them.

It was inevitable. As a meta point, I saw too many comments basically on that subreddit supporting "radical feminism" or "feminism" that is not "liberal feminism".

Sorry, I don't fuck with that. TheImpossible1 doesn't always get it on the money with his examples or commentary, but as a general movement not reliant on anecdotes, it is anti-men and no amount of caveats will change that.

Let the TERFs and "super liberals" eat each other.

Nintendo - Does it count when you retweet something shameful for a promotion?

Nintendo of America, important distinction. And it definitely counts.

I use Malware Bytes for malware, and built-in anti-virus otherwise.

I've used Kaspersky before and like them quite a bit for anti-virus.

Sticky this. I'm expecting a very thorough and complete list.

Edit: u/DomitiusOfMassilia if pings work on WIN.

It is NOT directed to by the old domain name.

Corrected in edit.

poal.co is closer to old voat

Poal is a pile of shit where the owner tries to force his vision of downvotes ('spam') down user throats. Hard pass.

Excerpts:

In the six “Safe Sleeping Villages” set up by the city of San Francisco during the pandemic, the cost of maintaining a single tent-camping spot is $5,000 per month, or $61,000 per year - more than it would cost to put each of these people in a market-rate apartment.

San Francisco counts about 6,400 people as homeless, although that doesn’t include people living out of their cars, or the thousands who flit from temporary shelters to relative’s residences to friends and neighbors — anywhere they can find a place to lay their body down. Many of these people have jobs that don’t pay them enough to live within 50 miles of San Francisco.

“But we really need to dive deep to see if this a sustainable model… without any federal reimbursement.”

Austin, Portal, San Francisco, Seattle, etc., are all liberal shit holes that are ravaged by a homeless crisis...and it's not from a lack of available resources.

Doesn't seem like they're going to be that inclusive, better hope you visually shape up:

In the interview, Clyburn said a debate about reparations would lead to a debate about who would be eligible due to extensive family trees that have come about since the abolition of slavery more than 150 years ago. Clyburn said that some white people could make claims to reparations, saying they have family ties to former slaves.

“Is that a fair way to do it?” Clyburn asked. “I say not.”

Well, yeah, it's Congress. All they do is whore themselves out for political favors 1 way or another.

In the case of Democrats, super cynically trying to keep minorities on the teeth of welfare...beyond simple humanitarian means.

Meh, money printer's going to keep working overtime either way. Especially if they're serious about student debt -- those rates are a fucking joke.

More accurately, a clone is up and is not directed to by the old domain.

The site's still a work-in-progress, but it's one more free speech alternative for now.
