Feel free not to answer, but do you use a VPN and are you planning on using one?
I've never felt the need to, but given the marathon race towards tyranny in the EU, I'm beginning to think that it might be a good idea.
You will love Big Brother, Winston... unless you mean 'fat' when you say Big, in which case you go to Room 101.
Excuse me, that is very insulting and quite rude.
What did the Stasi do that was this bad? They were spying on millions. The modern German state spies on literally everybody.
What has she been embezzling? Lard?
Question: was a German ever prosecuted for calling Goering fat? There were several well-known anti-Nazi jokes that made fun of his weight. The modern German state is making the Nazis look good, just like the UK makes Ingsoc look good.
With Brexit this may be true. But at least DC is still nominally bound by the US constitution. In the EU, you have no rights the ruling class is bound to respect. Whatever you are allowed to do is just what they have not decided to forbid at any given moment.
Unfortunately, the US is moving more and more towards that position as well.
See, the issue is, these people have kids to take care of. Of course, what you're talking about is Very Bad in its own right and all that (I am an EU subject), but what will happen to this kidnapped kid if they spend the rest of their lives in jail?
This is why it's only when people have nothing to lose that they act in such Very Bad ways. They're quite good at making sure that people never have nothing to lose, just very little.
It's a collective action problem. But of course, if you can rouse the collective, there is no need for the Very Bad actions, because you can handle such misconduct in ways that are regarded as legitimate.
I'd call them traitors but that'd be suggesting that they'd be expected to be loyal to the nation they're lying to.
Can confirm that the hashtag doesn't work, though obviously we don't know if it has been 'banned'. Other hashtags work fine, even 'telergam'. In fact, if you search for 'NONEXISTENTSTRING OR #telegram', you will get the results for the hashtag itself - suggests a manual banning.
Like u/Lurker404 says, it works perfectly fine without the hashtag.
FWIW, this is always done with "suspects" (which refers to anyone who is not convicted, regardless of how obvious it is that he dunnit) in a lot of mainland European countries. Full names are also seldom revealed, you get only the last initial, e.g. Muhammad Z.
It's not as if this will prevent people from figuring out that he is an invader.
We have free speech to the same extent that we have low gas prices.
Should have stayed in a free country, buddy...
They tacked on the 'child abuse content' that they probably downloaded from the Telegram channels that they themselves follow fanatically.
"There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party."
It's actually way worse than Jan 6. You could argue that they're on restricted grounds. These people have done literally nothing. Some have just commented online.
Xi Jiping is a better man than the rulers of England.
The only real crime is opposition to the regime. There's absolutely no reason for the regime to consider pedophilia a crime, which is why it doesn't.
I've found points 3,4 to be rather effective (actually without doing 1 and 2). An important factor, which is what 1,2 may be about, is that people need to like you. They're not even going to give what you say a hearing if they dislike you or are neutral towards you.
Regarding 5: it is not exactly a surprise that someone's worldview does not change based on one new fact that is inconsistent with it. If you think of someone's worldview in terms of a Kuhnian scientific revolution, one single anomaly should not make him change his entire worldview. Only when anomalies stack up and increase to make the worldview unsustainable.
Isn't it that they don't want to get it? The limiting factor for people's comprehension is generally not their intelligence, but their self-interest.
Well, don't abuse the disabled, help me out here.
Sowell suggests that these kinds of people are attracted to systems with centralized control, like communism, because they imagine it would give them more power. If they can engineer a solution to any problem, arrogance would tell them that they could also "solve" societal issues in a childish "if I were king" way.
I cannot be interested in the entertainment my coworkers talk about. I sit in meetings, and the entire table will laugh, and laugh hard, and a generic comment I have heard over 100 times. That they've all heard 100 times.
"well it IS monday!" hahahahahahahahhaha
That is just called autism.
Can you elaborate a bit on the first two sentences. What made you think you were smart, and what made you think that you're only slightly above average?
There seemed to be a few replies from actual smart people though,
How can you tell? There are some people for whom I'd think that it's not very unlikely that they're telling the truth... but since we're on the internet, no one knows you're a dog and no one knows that you ain't bright.
It may be even worse in real life, because how well-spoken you are has an enormous impact on how smart you're considered to be. I think this is less the case on the internet, as people know you can just edit stuff to sound coherent.
Excuse me, that's "massive faggot".
And OP is a massive moron, despite his name.
Not just with subtext...
I wasn't suggesting that you believe what you wrote yourself, if that's what you mean. You were clearly mocking something that the midwits believe, though I couldn't quite pin down what.
In the UK, women have been getting raped on an industrial scale by immigrants for decades now. This shit didn't change.
