Spiderman PS4 literally only succeeded on being modern and fancy. It looked good, felt good to play, and was otherwise inoffensive in most ways. If you got it for 20-30$ its a pretty solid weekend binge game.
So they replaced the face model people grew attached to with a "its totally coincidence it looks like his MCU actor" one that is shockingly unfitting for Peter Parker, doubled down on the segments people hated from the first one, pushed dual protag status with a character people are already burnt out on, and then basically made the same fucking game beyond that.
Like, ignoring the woke parts, it was already probably going to struggle. It might have kept some momentum from the first game, but the Miles midquel already proved that had little power, and they seemed more interested in marketing it to Execs and Journalists than generating any amount of hype for it.
Butcher Bay is better than the movie it was licensed from, probably the foundation of all "melee oriented FPS" games, and shockingly forgotten by time despite still holding up.
Genuinely one of my favorite games, and a great lesson that you just need a little extra money and one of the production staff to give a little of a shit about the game to make it special.
The non-game media seems to be good more often than not. All the shows are decent to great, and the Comics seem to be popular among some people.
Which raises even further questions about why the games themselves cannot reach passable. They clearly have writers to at least make good stories for the games, yet even the writing in the games is shit.
Generations was just "member berries" the game that took good levels from better games and made them worse, and took levels from bad games to average them against those good levels to make everything seem "fine."
The last legitimately good 3D game was Adventure 2, or I'll take Heroes at a stretch. Everything else is just "its kinda good but with a giant BUT attached."
Sonic hasn't had a legitimately good game in decades, a few that people argue has good parts and one that ripped half of its content from the old games to begin with (Mania). Its a literal floundering franchise that might have actually died if the movie didn't become an unexpected megahit.
But I'm sure now people will totally buy it.
I think the Palestine/Israel schism shows they can have thier own opinions, even at odds with what the media tries to tell them.
But its only because they've been trained like good dogs to respond with the same response so many times that they reflexively do so.
I am always hesitant to say "guys from other subs are the problem" but a lot of the time their descriptions of things allowed over there just sound like its a lot worse of a place treating its low effort circle jerk as a win somehow.
Like, one of the reasons why the rules exist as they do was to prevent the place becoming nothing but /pol/ memes on repeat and Jew being every 5th word, and while I don't agree with how they are used I do prefer think they do some work preventing us becoming a place like that.
I like the idea that its bad because it would let Russia have influence on the EU itself, when it was literally earlier this week that the UK sent hundreds of people to the US to influence our election.
I did enjoy the comment down there that people who don't meet like 80% support for the EU shouldn't be allowed to join. Imagine if we could just deny citizenship to people who weren't at least 80% pro-our country, everyone in that comment section would be deported.
That's the problem with all these topics, and unfortunately many of the anti-Jew ones too.
Its not enough for Dom to be a gay faggot and a retard. He has to be the MOST Ultra Evil Giga Nigga Subversive Agent whose every action is bad and every trait is corrupted.
You can't be honest or fair in your criticisms, because everyone is engaged in a struggle session virtue signal to show themselves to say all the necessary affirmations (R16 bad, Dom jew, I got banned for nothing) to prove they are on the "good side" who believes all the right things. That's how you get people acting like he is somehow as bad as or worse than a reddit mod, its a good one up on those affirmations about how bad he is.
Dom is retarded and really needs a check on forcing his opinions as rules, but too many are engaging in Mind-Kill techniques on themselves just to hate him.
Being a furry is a level of degenerate that goes deeper than a simple kink and is indicative of a specific personality, so its not a compromise you can make and expect results.
Maybe you can compromise on it for some sort of tech autist position, but nothing that involves morality or politics.
It is. Like, I can watch a full episode if I put my mind to it without issue. But the entire time I'll be thinking "man I wish I was doing something with my hands right now" and get distracted.
Its why almost all the media I consume is comedy, because it manages to keep my attention fully if its actually funny. So Shimoneta some years back was easy to consume because it was nonstop laughter.
But rather than complain about the industry not catering to me, I just consume absurd sums of manga on my phone due to having large amounts of downtime during my days.
The entire point of those is just to be a large advertisement for the manga itself and milk a chunk of extra merchandising.
Call of the Night for example probably tripled its net worth despite the anime barely even scratching its actual story.
Its me, I'm the guy who can't watch full episodes anymore because its too long.
But in my defense, its because subs require actual full attention (my Japanese from pure hearing isn't what it used to be) and I prefer my watching be background to other more productive tasks (or shitposting here). And I'm far, far from a zoomer.
My wife is the opposite and will come home from work and shotgun an entire season in one glorious sitting and then complain about it being over.
I'll be honest, I am continually genuinely shocked at having a politician that even comes close to actually representing my beliefs and values. And without needing a giant "ignore this massive flaw" caveat that bothers me.
He certainly has flaws, but normally when they hit that close to home its one like "believes the minor can consent" or "is a fucking furry."
was just one example given of inserting syllables to disconnect effects from horror.
But that is my disagreement. I don't believe that is entirely the case, as it requires removing the entire definition of the words themselves, and the connotation they evoke, to distill it down to only its syllables because that is the only way to make the point work.
I can do the "all day" about the politics and history of mental illnesses and the DSM, but at the simplest form PTSD is a far more useful term. It tells you everything you need to know about what is going on, rather than limiting to only war born and using a word that has multiple unfitting abilities to describe it proper.
As in, its the opposite of "softening of language" because instead of dancing around the meaning with emotionally charged words, it accurately gets right to the point of what is going on. Which is the polar opposite of what the Left does with more of their word games, such as replacing pedophile with "minor attracted person."
Which is why I mock Carlin on it, because its specifically framed to make the audience feel like they "cracked the code" and are now smarter than all the other sheep for it, but it only works if you just accept the framework without question.
I'll grant, all of this doesn't matter if you think PTSD should only apply to soldiers and veterans, which is a popular opinion, because then it absolutely has disconnected for nothing. I don't agree with that perspective, but I acknowledge it has merit.
That's just masturbatory nonsense for people who are more interested in getting off on the punishment than actually accomplishing anything.
If they are never going to be released, why waste the money keeping them alive so you can jerk off on how much pain they are in? And if they have the possibility of release, then you've literally broken them into being a far worse threat.
It accomplishes little and dehumanizes people. And we don't dehumanize the worst of the worst not for their own sake, but for the sake of ourselves when that system fails. Unless you suddenly think the government and the legal system are perfectly trustable and good natured.
I certainly love the idea of the government, who has our best interest at heart all the time, and our legal system, which is perfect and never subject to bias and emotion, having the ability to swiftly just kill people. What can go wrong?
Also, that's literally the same problem. Once they've committed a crime, they've no longer got anything to lose since you can't kill them twice, so now you've incentivized them to just go balls out on horror while they can.
Women can barely maintain a principle or position until the end of an argument, but you expect one to last a whole year? AFTER SHE WAS MADE TO FEEL BAD?!!?
Honestly its on you at that point you filthy misogynist. She was scared and terrified by the consequences of her actions and here you are reminding her of her actions!
