a) how did anyone come to the rational conclusion that we each must stick to our own culture (except if you are of European decent).
b) who the fuck down at Pinterest thought wow this is a great idea that we definitely must push despite no one asking except some deranged women on twitter.
c) how do you draw a line on culture? Can an arab dress as a mummy? Can an african american dress as something from Nigerian culture? Can a Chinese dress Japanese?
Sadly this is not even top tier virtue signaling but a good effort, I assume that the blue checkmark gods are pleased.
What's funny is that in Japan when actual Japanese people see Westerners dressing up in our cultural garb during festivals. We actually feel flattered.
It's like when a guest comes over and you feed them and they actually really like your food so much that they start making it themselves.
I dunno why Leftists somehow think this is supposedly an insult. You're intrigued by a culture so much that you wish to emulate them. As they say, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

They don't, but saying they do gives them power. The same way they don't need to actually think the okay sign is a white power symbol because it's a weapon they can use to ruin their enemies.
It’s literally how civilisation is built. You start using the bits you like and discard the other bits. Otherwise there’d be just one tribe with wheels and everyone else would be left scratching their arses, amazed at the culture that has developed the wheel.
Plus it’s ultimately the highest compliment you can give. You’re literally saying that that particular aspect of culture is superior to everything else which is why you’re engaging in it and not one of the alternatives at the same time.
Let me take a stab at it. If I, as a yellow person, dressed up as a cowboy, or if a white person dressed up as a samurai, then we are guilty of cultural appropriation. But, if I dressed up as Chinese and someone Chinese dressed up as Japanese, then it wouldn't be because to the woke it's stereotypically Asian, all Asians fall under the same umbrella.
It only gets more stupid the more you dig into it. For example, would it be cultural appropriation if an African American dressed up as a Zulu warrior? Some might say no because it's stereotypically African, some might say yes because an American shouldn't be appropriating African culture.
All this does is force regular people trying to have fun into retarded little boxes for the pleasure of power hungry woke idiots.
So if I wore blackface to impersonate the (white) prime minister of Canada, would that be cultural appropriation? What if I am white and also a Canadian? What if I did this in America? As far as I have seen, nobody on the left has had any issue with Cuckdeau wearing black face on countless (seriously he can't even keep up) occasions, and they even voted him back in. So it must be okay, for me, a white Canadian to do it, like a national tradition, no?

Stuff like War bonnets have some specific meaning and reducing it to a fashion accessory does come across as an insult.

I'm going to simplify that.
Is bad when whites do it.
Is no bad when no-whites do it.
Bingo
Iie. Watashi wa Tornado Yoshida desu.
If a Xhosa dresses up as a Zulu in Africa I think they'd get necklace'd.

Pinterest still exists?
It's a search engine disease.
So if I was to dress up as Jimmy Kimmel wearing blackface, that wouldn't be inappropriate since he's white too? Asking for my friend Justin T
