Plus it’s ultimately the highest compliment you can give. You’re literally saying that that particular aspect of culture is superior to everything else which is why you’re engaging in it and not one of the alternatives at the same time.

Stuff like War bonnets have some specific meaning and reducing it to a fashion accessory does come across as an insult.
