Ridiculous. It's all theatrics to make an example of him. Reasonable doubt due to self-defense can easily be established from all we've seen.
The second amendment exists soley for reasons like this. Just because we haven't had to use it because of how peaceful things have become doesn't change that. If anything, it demonstrates how good of a job police do in society daily.

this is bullshit on the part of Law Enforcement. They won't arrest violent rioters but someone defending himself from a mob? That's who they arrest. Its purely political in an attempt to appease the tyranny of the mob.

Anarcho-Tyranny. The government is no longer fulfilling its duties to its citizens.

Remember that concept? That a government has responsibilities to its citizens, rather than citizens having obligations to the government? It's dumbfounding how it's all been allowed to get so backwards and twisted.

People need to learn from the example of the Proud Boys in New York: the law is no longer an institution of justice. It is an institution for punishing the Wrong People.

If you turn yourself in after defending yourself, you will be punished, and those against whom you defended yourself will fight again.

Black criminal resists arrest, gets shot.

BLM and Antifa descend on the city, burn and loot.

Democrat mayors and governors order police to stand down, Soros DAs and AGs press no charges.

If citizens exercise their rights to defend their property and/or themselves, media brands them white supremacists, police arrest them, Soros DAs throw the book at them.

If Trump sends in the guard, media brands him a fascist.

We're literally already in a civil war. Democrat states are deploying soldiers against their own people, and any attempt to stop it is met with escalation.

If they arrest rioters the corrupt Democratic DAs just let them off the hook.

This needs a hell of a lot more upvotes. Very true.

Hopefully he was legal to have the gun. Clearly self defense in the urban jungle, but the law doesn't care if the gun was in his possession illegally.

I've seen everywhere that he was 17 years old. If that's true, then he's kinda fucked, as the legal age to use a firearm without supervision in Wisconsin is 18.

Yeah, they might have a hook there as he did technically transport it over state lines (possibly illegally) and he may not be in legal possession as a minor either. Lots of unknowns.

Edit: It also does not help that his actions may not hold up to the oft quoted in law "reasonable person" test frequently used by courts. I also wonder if this is a federal court issue now as he crossed state lines... jurisdiction is going to be a cluster fuck with this matter.

Being from Illinois will not help him. Especially if he's from the burbs. We are not kind to gun owners.

Has the lawsuit against the state police for a literally broken licensing program become class-action yet?

Wouldn't know. I moved to Idaho, then to Tennessee, both states where I can shoot whoever whenever I want if they look liberal enough.

But Edwardsville IL is home to a lot of class action lawyers, famously, so I'm sure people started shopping there.

Sorry, no idea. Work in the field, but not in Illinois. From what I read though, that license thing is bullshit.

It all comes down to that first incident, which I haven’t done my research on. No way should he plead guilty to anything after that first incident.

But hey, if you dare call out the useless pigs for not doing their jobs, but thinking they still have the authourity to arrest people who defending themselves, then the boot licking shills on here will call you a commie and downvote you. Just proves that some of the halfkia trash got lost and made their way here.
