I wouldn't go that far. HalfKiA.win is a fuckin' ghost town. Nobody uses it.
Even the actual subreddit is almost completely dead. As of now the newest post is 9 hours old. For a sub of 122k users, that is completely fucking unheard of. The last argument with the retard mods I had over there, one of the fuckwits was touting how high the subscriber numbers were.

With an invite like this I'm downright shocked people didn't swarm in! (Text quoted below for people without a Reddit invite. The poster is a mod of the original KiA.)
Re: KotakuInAction.win (self.kotakuinaction2)

I am just posting this here as a followup to the announcement that most of you have noticed already. Consider this an "olive branch" of sorts, or don't.
I fully expect a KotakuInAction2.win to be made, and allowed to stay up as part of the wider community there. I was even asked specifically about whether it would be a problem, and as long as folks aren't specifically coming over to attack people/mods, I do not believe it would be a problem. With the new site comes a new chance for everyone - we are rewriting parts of the rules, and thinning several down as there are many parts which were directly tied to reddit and admin rules (public or hidden) here which would not be relevant or necessary on the new site. Alongside this, we are NOT going to preemptively ban anyone from here, provided they are willing to work within the new lighter ruleset there. This means we are not importing existing bans of people who had previously earned temporary or permanent bans. Yes, this means you are included in that "one more chance", Antonio.
Word has already been going around about one user from here being banned after his first comment. What he fails to state clearly is that his comment dove over the line far enough that it would have likely been removed here too for the final part of the sentence in reference to a certain WW2 leader "did nothing wrong". So don't just listen and believe. The admins there have stated they intend to have public mod logs available, and we will be setting those up in the near future as we get everything else functional.
So I hope that you all take this in the way it is intended - as an "olive branch". I don't expect you all to start liking us as mods, but I do hope you'll give the community another chance as we get things more fully operational there.
KiA1 didn't want the sub to become The_Donald2, but now they've set up an alternate forum on a site started by the mods of The_Donald. So now their enemies will see them as The_Donald2 regardless.

Even the actual subreddit is almost completely dead. As of now the newest post is 9 hours old.
That is actually a major reason for people, specifically people making post submissions, to leave halfkia.
The mods police the queue so hard and ban so much that you often end up with very few topics that are submitted almost entirely by either the mods themselves or their superuser friends.
Yeah, the one of the mods on halfKiA told me that if I had a problem with the subreddit, to go to the .win site, and I told him, "Why the fuck would I use a site that is controlled by the same chucklefucks that ruined the subreddit?" I got crickets in response.
Oh damn, that's actually a pretty intense story. I was expecting something along the lines of KiA2 just grew popular enough that it became its own thing. Didn't expect the whole politics and abuse of power portion of it.
It goes a lot deeper than even that. It was a story that started in Year 1 (Hat and the SocJus ban, "Core GG," etc.) that just kept having blowups quarterly until it finally exploded violently for nearly a year. I could probably write a multi page essay on just the random bits I remember.
During the early days of KIA2, a huge portion of the subbase were people banned (rightfully or not) from KIA1, which is one reason why they hate this place so much. It undermined their control.
The only reason I won't, is because I have little in the way of "proof" because I didn't save anything and am only going off memory, which isn't the most reliable.
I don't want to end up feeding misinformation basically. The most recent stuff anyone could do fairly well, but the ancient stuff (that is important background and foundational material) I have been corrected on before due to my iffy memory.
Antonio would be a better author, because he is autistic enough to have kept a lot of archives to provide evidence. He has done so a few times on reddit.
KiA 2 on Reddit is going to shit as well. Just got banned for "witch hunting" becuse I posted an article about some black chick doing Irish folk dances to shitty hip hop as an example of actual cultural appropriation.
Yup. Used to post on there, and I also made a certain megathread regarding a certain cesspool site and the birth of it's ugly stepsister. Deleted my reddit account shortly after and lurked ever since. Old KiA is dead.
KiA's main focus is gaming and nerd culture -- including how it's reported -- along with the advocating for a return of ethics and free speech. The topics posted there must be relevant to that. The moderation is also significantly stricter.
KiA2's focus is the entirety of the culture war and the ethics of all; or rather, lack of. Less moderation and a stronger focus on free speech.
That's the TL;DR of it as I see it. I mean there's a story to go with it all, but I'm tired -- sorry. I figured it's less important than a quick snapshot of what the result is. It was a bunch of drama anyway.
There are alot of nuances to it, but an easy answer is.
KIA1 is where you go if you think SocJus and all of this insanity is "a few bad leftists, that us REAL leftists will ignore to death."
KIA2 is where you go to be /pol/-lite and attack everyone vitriolically.
A less jokey way, KIA1 wants to focus on symptoms and keep it very narrowly focused to games and SocJus directly and openly related to it. KIA2 pushes that into the broader culture war and against Leftism in general.

The original KiA is dead. We are all that's left.
Yeah, everyone has totally bailed on KiA. All that's left is the mods and a couple of the most active die-hards from the beginning.
They became controlled opposition and refuse to see it.
Honestly, if it wasn't for B_Volleyball over there, HalfKIA would have died a long time ago.
bvr, md,db and the INFINITE RAGE MACHINE LYRA are the only reasons to be there.

Good thing half.win launched with more mods than users or some wrong think might slip through.

Paging AutistOfVenice!
You should if you ever get around to it. I feel like internet history is a neglected part of history and should be a field of study just on its own.
I study this.
AoV of course declared me PE #1 at one point.
Good, you posted the story part!
If only we knew then what we know now.

one is for faggots, so is the other one but also their mods suck tranny cock
Degree to which they're controlled opposition.
Turned into the backup after the mods lost their collective minds
KIA is full of homos and trannies and a scattering of low IQ africans
That's like asking what's the difference between Coke in a white can with black labeling of Cola vs Coca Cola in the red can.
jannies here are part of one POWERMOD crew.
