I have no idea how they can even do this legally, but I'm guessing this is one of the reasons they're repealing anti-discrimination laws. It's pretty gross, to be honest.

It's easy to justify legally. What the law just passed does is make a 3-unit class on race-related grievance studies a requirement to graduate in colleges of the California State University system. As with other general education credits, they just have to say it's about ensuring they have well-rounded students.
Federal government can put a ban on using federal financial aid for classes with zero value to the government. Plenty of ways to dick around a leftist when people start using their own tactics. Watch the schools freak when students can't pay for it and the school has to put its own endowments to pay for the purified shit dribbling from Newsom's mouth.

So rebellious kids skip these classes en masse .... next up, special re-education camps for them. Of course, they'll be presented like traditional wilderness camps/scouts/ROTC/Outward Bound ...
It's not quite like that. What happened is that anyone attending a college in the California State University system must take a 3 unit class in race-related grievance studies to graduate. No jail time or fines per se. The punishment here is having to waste time, money, and the opportunity to take a class on something that you enjoy and/or is actually useful.
So, it's more like "be brainwashed, or never work at any kind of job that requires post-secondary education. Oh, and we now require even McDonald's janitors to have to get tickets that will also include these courses." So they go on welfare, get sent to the same courses. They commit a crime, they have to take the same courses in jail.
It kind of works out to the same thing in the long run.

Indoctrination only works if people are willing to listen. You are going to need way more than a couple hours' worth of class to break them into being willing to listen.

Without the credits from the mandatory anti-racism training students will not be able to begin other studies.
