Perhaps a hot take, but I refuse to pay more than sixty dollars for a video game. If the rapidly failing industry is going to start trying to squeeze people for their increasingly terrible product, then I sincerely hope that more and more people start outright pirating.
$60 used to be fine when the quality was higher and you could expect more actual content for your purchase, but they've been steadily cutting corners and shaving off pieces of the game to sell back to customers as DLC. Remember how costumes and character colors used to be things you just unlocked by playing the game? Yeah, now every one of those is a $5 transaction.
I cannot remember the last time that a AAA game actually delivered enough to warrant its price point. Plenty of games from smaller devs have stepped up and given me worthwhile products for my money, but the industry juggernauts are all slowly sinking into the ocean of dross.

Yeah, to be honest 60 is too much already.

The games worth playing are usually under $40 because they're either indie or decades old.
It's the first gaming generation I've encountered that consoles have gotten more expensive mid-cycle instead of less with slim-model refreshes.
