(((Porn sites))) were some of the first in line to lobby for ID laws for the faces in videos. It helped purge the open web of amateur videos made by regular people and pushed coomers towards hardcore degen content like blacked and milf shit that the jews produce.

There was a reason they banned it in Israel but broadcast it in Gaza

Aylo, however, backs device-based age verification, which would put the onus on companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft to check people's ages versus specific porn sites.

They were never in favor of privacy and security. They just wanted to offload the responsibility onto OS makers like Microslop who are more than happy to oblige because it makes the data they steal more valuable.

To be fair, it should be done by ISPs if anywhere.

Make ISPs that already require a credit check give an IPv6 address with a high 65th bit out to people with no kids at home, and boom, no increased privacy violation and no need for age verification for a huge chunk of the population, and it is easy peasy to implement on any server.

people with kids could verify with the ISP and get a temporary extra ip address on the fly.

That's a pretty reasonable technical solution. However such an approach would never be considered because the privacy violation is the point. The age verification is nothing but a pretense.

It should be done by the parents enabling parental controls on devices they let children access.

But only when it can't be done by parents actually being a part of their children's lives.

As usual they only pretended to care about "free speech" when it was a way to normalize and legalize degeneracy.

Facebook/Meta/Zuck was caught dark money lobbying for the requirements for it to be used in Facebook. He wants the data but doesn't want to look like the bad guy because he knows people will drop facebook like a rock if he adds that crap if competitors don't have to.

If I recall correctly, they were lobbying for it to be added at the OS level. So when some future regulation targets social media all the technical effort, cost, and liability would have been pushed off to someone else already. Facebook would just check the "is over 18" flag and not have to pay a cent.

The proper way to implement OS age verification is just entering your birthday when you setup your user account. No online checks or face scans, just enter your birthday on setup. Then any time a website or program wants you to verify your age, it hits an OS API that returns this birthday.

This way, parents could supervise their child during account setup once, instead of all the time at every website (children that will format their OS can't be stopped anyway), AND normal adults will never be bothered by a pointless age gate pop up again.

But then they wouldn't be able to track and surveil you so they'll whine about people lying at setup. This was never about child safety.

children that will format their OS

Seems a lot easier to just use a browser that lies about the flag.

1- A child's account should not have administrator privileges to format the device.

2- If the child is savy enough to get into the BIOS of a PC to boot into a different OS ( or dumb enough to wipe all the PC's data by overwriting it with a fresh OS install ), that kid is smart enough to find another way to fool age verifications.

All of this is BS : the decision to restrict a child's access to electronic devices rests ON THE PARENTS. Everything ''smarter'' than a toaster has a parental control setting.

You can even set your house's WIFI to cut-off Internet during certain hours on a per-device basis.

100%

This is not a technical issue. As a parent, the only time I don't have total control over what my kids see is when they're at school (which an actual issue that governments should be dealing with).

Speaking of actual issues, this isn't one. At least, not in my top 10.

My number one concern regarding my kids is that thugs and perverts the crack house my government built beside the local school attracts don't catch them unawares or without backup.

The close second is the government run school employees trying to groom, degenerate, and possibly inject my kids with God knows without even bothering to tell me.

After that, it would be how my kids are going to find work competing against infinite immigrants who hire within their own peoples, ethnic gang violence, finding decent spouses in a White population that is both diminishing and denigrating, etc.

When does the government talk about any of that?

YEah, they're really going to block the most tech-savvy generation from access?

Remember when Hillary & Tipper's "Moms for Morality" got warning labels & lyrics printed on records (Later CDs too) to "stop obscenity"? One year later mountains of obscene product was pumped out because "there's a warning!" Enter gangsta rap & worse.
They tried the same with TV access. The running gag was "If you don't know how to block access to certain ratings, just ask your 12 year-old" 😂

This is all just cover for what Canada's Liberals really want: unfettered access to ALL the data, ever. No warrants, no probable cause, just endless fishing expeditions against political enemies with unlimited access provided by the Social Media providers 😣
