I thought the first two were funny. Haven’t seen the rest. Although doing a parody of Scream which in itself is a deconstruction (done well) of the horror drama is interesting
It reminds me of that cartoon on X that was 'anti woke' the problem was, it wasn't funny. I believe this cartoon from Freedomtoons shows how easy it is to be funny.
The problem is that the Scary Movie franchise has a problem of 'and then' storytelling. South park creators before going TDS explained it well as the worse thing you can have is a bunch of disjointed skits mashed together as it ruins the flow of a joke.
Have the main plot run every episode with various comments leading to flashbacks of random sketches that have no real place in the episode other than to be completely absurd.
Monty Python's Flying Circus and Robot Chicken were sketch shows, the whole point of those shows is that each "episode" is really 5-10 episodes that are just being broadcast together. That's not the same thing as family guy where each episode has an overall plot but is filled with random gags that have nothing to do with the actual story being told.
"The main plot" is the important part of that. Those two used stuff like "this reminds of the time..." to get their random sketches in there while the normal plot was still going. The episode's main plot would still follow cause and effect without being disjointed.
If you took a Family Guy episode, let it establish the premise, then cut out everything that wasn't a flashback, it would have been hard to watch.
Critics rarely give actual funny movies good scores anyway. They're the most snobby people you can find. Even in the heyday of comedy movies, they would bomb them all. I have no idea if this one has any worth, but if it's truly anti-woke then it's has to be better than most of the other crap that passes for comedy these days.
I remember seeing the first one. It hadn't been out more than a few days and I was with friends at the movie theater. I also remember most of us thinking it was retarded. We were right there in target audience age too.

I'd say the first 3 are funny. Didn't care for 4, and I never saw 5.

That's what Family Guy was.

How I Met Your Mother did the same.
It worked for Monty Python's Flying Circus and Robot Chicken?

There's 6 of them?!?!

I haven't seen another one.
The Wayans can't do comedy.
The problem is the current day environment... People don't have the luxury anymore to find dumb humor like the scary movie series funny anymore.
Too much real shit going on the world where the target demo of young people can't wind down.
Any movie that is part 4 or above needs to be deleted.
Hey now im the proud owner of all 7 police academy movies. I will happily watch them til I die.
Its just gonna be basic degen stuff instead of woke degen stuff.
Scary movie had it's scenes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKy5gI5P8ak
