Although algebra may seem like an academic relic — think cursive or home economics
Algebra an academic relic? Geometry, sure. Algebra you will need to understand most adult systems. Does this person think that it's some kind of abstract magical entity because it has a tenuous similarity to "abracadabra"?
If you go beyond intro level classes for math, physics, chemistry, or biology, then you're gonna have to become REAL familiar with geometry. Its also important for most any manufacturing, hand manufacturing, or construction enterprise.
