If you go beyond intro level classes for math, physics, chemistry, or biology, then you're gonna have to become REAL familiar with geometry. Its also important for most any manufacturing, hand manufacturing, or construction enterprise.
I wouldn't call it a relic.
That still excludes the vast majority of people, but yes, relic is too strong of a word.
