And yes really it was more the cops that beat Rodney King getting off that was the primary reason OJ got off. A black woman juror admitted she and other blacks voted not guilty because those cops got off.
The LAPD was and are corrupt as fuck, but resisting arrest or running from the cops should result in an ass beating. Nowadays, there's no downside to fleeing arrest, so tons of dudes just go for it - and harm more people in the process.
I'm reminded of the leftist argument for reducing punishments for child molesters. Their logic is if you give a man the death penalty or life in prison for touching a kid, then he's incentivized to escalate to murder in order to cover up the lesser crime.
