Some Canadians of this very board (legit, good people) once got upset with me because I said that residential schools in my view were good. Regardless of some abuses, they helped integrate Indians into modern society. Although that sounds less good now that 'modernity' has shown itself to be so rotten, but it looked and was good at the time.
If governments lie this much about contemporary issues - imagine how much they lie about the holocaust or future things like global warming.
Or poorly tested issues like vaccines where they are regulatory captured.
