If your government actually cared about you, they would force all these data centers to build a nuclear power plant before coming online. That way when the AI bubble inevitably collapses, you at least got a power plant out of it.
Instead they subsidize solar so you are stuck without reliable long term energy and they could stop subsidies whenever they felt like it. Just another fake and gae feel good industry supported by our tax dollars. Nevermind those billions and billions of tons of garbage panels being replaced every 15-18 years. Good stuff eh.
They probably accelerate the global surveillance state because they have the numbers that tell them they only have this many years to do it before the brown hordes become uncontrollable after the white genocide.
I'm not really an AI hater, although I would say I think humanity would be better off if AI never existed. I have taken the road of choosing to embrace it, because fighting it isn't going to do anything but put me behind.
Still, the focus should have been on efficiency in how much computing workload it needs. AI isn't even that revolutionary, it's just we finally got the computing power and miniaturization to be able to do these stupid scales of it. It's still just a decision tree of move, add, compare, jump.
The one thing that I get behind AI on is using it to mindlessly finish some of the retarded administrative tasks that are the product of our age. I love that it writes my notes for me. While the patient is yapping about every detail it will pick it all up and record it so they are happy with the end product and I can focus on the keywords I'm looking for while placing orders. Every quarter they add a new requirement to our medical notes and it turns them into a huge block of verification statements and disclaimers.
Funny I used to see arguments that AI would never be rolled out to things like driverless truck hauling because you don't have as much liability for thieves with no human victim in the vehicle. So fuck it they will just call it terrorism against critical infrastructure when you destroy the robots

Didn’t every one here insist Trump actually signed this into law? lol
The AI kabuki continues.
Actually Indians

Data centers are an abomination that kill jobs while skyrocketing utilities, other than that couldn’t give two shits about AI in general.
Not to mention cause pollution and destroy nature for absolutely zero gain (if a bunch of terminally online gooners even care about that).
Pretty much... They're investing so heavily it's not going away. Learn it or get left behind.
That's what they said about EVs and battery tech.
This isn't comparable
The blocker is the electrical grid can't handle a complete switch to EV and private investors can't enter the auto sales market that easily.
However... When it comes to AI data centers, that IS something private investors can just throw money at and have built or influence.
A better comparison is learning computers, modern cell phones and various Internet tasks.

Doubt it, she's got thyroid cancer.
Highest survivability rate of any cancer
It's still cancer, it's like being bit by something venomous, you're still going to rush to the hospital regardless of what it was.
