Check out the segment starting at 19:22. Druckman just says it out loud. There was a "pitch" (by team members who were explicitly tasked with injecting diversity) to make a character trans. I don't recall seeing this so directly stated anywhere else. Really confirms what we've long suspected.
Imagine a bunch of tranny and queer devs doing a little power point presentation for their boss explaining why a character in their video game should be trans. Then imagine the boss actually doing it. The state of modern western writing.
Can we get normal people making video games again or people who understand who actually is buying the game. Stop pandering to extreme minorities and stop thinking that every hobby is flooded with women. Look at comic books if you want to see how damaging that mindset it
The theory I have heard is that while the modern audience does not exist now, if the mainstream forces this sort of low quality, woke trash everywhere for as long as they can, the general public will come to accept it and then there will actually be a demand for it.
I doubt it will actually work as independents can still make what people want, and there is a massive backlog of older games/media, but far be it from these activists to live in reality.
That might work for streaming, but video games demand a level of mental focus. The average dopamine-fried ADHDcel will eventually skip the gaming part altogether if it doesn't keep them off their phones.
Correct. "The Modern Audience" is just cover for pushing propaganda until the garbage they're shoveling out becomes normalized. It's not some mistaken pursuit of a niche demographic, it's an attempt to socially engineer that demographic into existence via repetition of their values and twisted morality.
Correct. We know this works because we've seen it happen in streaming, as others pointed out. If you look at the top-rated/most-streamed normieslop, it's almost all exclusively woke-filled trash compared to what was being consume just 15 or 20 years ago (not that television/streaming was grand 20 years ago, but it wasn't exclusively filled with faggotry/miscegenation/open misandry like it is now).
The standards are so low that only the most wokest of trash will be discarded by normies, while they will settle for what they consider to be slightly less woke trash.
Gaming -- as HallucinatoryBeing pointed out -- requires more engagement, so it's slightly more difficult to rope in the average normie, but they are making progress.
They have to hit a certain threshold of quality engagement to keep pushing the Overton window. They have managed to do it somewhat with stuff like Overwatch or Apex Legends, but then they flew too close to the sun.
They'll continue to etch away at gaming as they try to find their silver bullet the way they have with streaming. While indie holdouts offer an alternative (for now), you can see how they're pushing heavily for gated access to gaming through cloud services (and purposely driving up prices of hardware).
Once they have a controlled software ecosystem where they remove "problematic" games from digital streaming access via cloud-onlyservice, or only allow sanitised remakes, they'll have gamers right by the gonads. At that point, modding, "problematic" indie games, and emulation will all be extricated from the ecosystem.
to be fair, woman do love comics. that market demographic just got snatched up by manga and webtoons before the comics industry could react.
I meant super hero comics. Should’ve been more specific. That genre skews more male but yes there are comics women like and manga does a great job at understanding what tends to appeal to men in women. It was like the feminists infested comics and went after the comics that tend to appeal to guys
The industry straight up refused to even pursue that market at any point. They didn't lose at a quick draw, they were fucking asleep at the wheel for generations. It's only fairly recently that you're starting to see a return of non super hero comics. There were a few that did manage to break into that market like Sandman, but on the whole the comic industry hasn't produced anything for people who aren't into capeshit for ages. They'll blame the comics code or whatever from the long distant past but the truth is even once that went away they just straight up didn't try and just coasted on their captured audience who knew how to find their way to a comic shop.
Zero innovation, zero effort. They can reap the fucking whirlwind and I won't cry for them.
