Yeah. I have to admit that while becoming emotionally dependant on an AI is pathetic, there's a part of me that is more contemptuous of the fact that they didn't learn to run their boyfriend locally.
The smaller models don't really compare to the performance of chatgpt. Your best bet would be a quantized deepseek-v3 but you'd still need need at least 80GB of vram so 3x 5090s or an H100 so between $10K and $40K. Plus the setup is not normie friendly at all. Actually there's probably a small market opening for packaging up a plug and play AI boyfriend box and selling it to rich old ladies for $50K.
