The only reason they are calling out the far-left at all is because there is an (Israel-critical) far-left party (also very bad on issues like immigration) that they are rivals with. See the quotes by the Macron ministers.
Even worse is the previous BBC article titled Nine arrested in France over death of far-right student. Yeah, smear the victim as 'far-right', but the attackers are 'youths' (a term normally reserved for non-whites, but now invoked in protection of the far-left).
Journalists aren't people. Bully them at every opportunity.
And if anyone would have stopped the murder, they would have been charged for acts of terrorism. The murderers here will get a slap on the wrist.
