Yeah, my opinion is both sides are engaged in a bout of mutually agreed 'tism combat that has been going on for longer than my tenure, that at this point should have already run it's course but just won't stop. It seems fully reciprocal, so the threshold for giving just one side an R2 warning at this point would have to be something vastly disproportionate, serious shit like real off-platform doxing.
Theoretically a R2 warning for both to step away from each other could be fair but also feels retarded. I'm not looking to make a habit of telling adults who they can talk to, I'm just looking to clean up spam and trolls. It's just words, people can learn get the fuck over it and manage their egos to walk away from pointless arguments by themselves, like a real adult. If one side were to fully disengage and, after a sizeable cooling off period, was still getting shit talked everywhere about off-topic stuff, I'd be inclined to eventually intervene with on the grounds of R2 harassment. But at this point and after all these spurious reports, it's going to take a very sizeable commitment to not engaging to convince me it's genuine not just a tactic to get the mods to do the desired dirty work. Like check back at Thanksgiving maybe.
And the R7 complaints are not even close to valid and seem to be coming from a total misinterpretation of the rule. It's for essentially proven hoaxes, or stuff so close to proven that basically everyone agrees it looks false. Speculation about your heritage or motivation, no matter how outlandish or baseless, cannot come under R7 unless your actual identity is a matter of public record and independently verified. (And for the love of god, don't actually dox yourself). R7 isn't for shit you think is "not proven", it's only for things basically the entire community agrees is "proven categorically wrong."

I specifically warned against looking like gaming the system, part of gaming the system is figuring out what the limits are so you can push right up next to them.
So no a month isn't enough, maybe the timeline could be adjusted down from that first estimate, but if you're going to appeal to authority to solve your problems then that also means you're ultimately deferring to their judgement too. That's why people like solving their own problems more.
That is not the spirit of the rule, the rule is to stop bad actors from shitting up the board with blatant misinformation about topics of real import and interest to the users and making them waste time trying to verify what turns out to obviously be nonsense. It's not there so we can be rules lawyered into moderating every little bitch fight to ensure perfect logic and honesty all around.
The community here just don't want those shackles. The ethos towards permitted speech here is and always has been laissez-faire, I'm only looking to intercede when the balance of pros and cons is very heavily pro on the side of intervening. And bluntly put, internet slap fights are only of real import to the slappers, almost nobody else really cares about this BS. Intervening will only benefit one person who cares and negatively affect another person who cares, functionally the pros and cons are only slightly imbalanced proportional to the how valued either party is. The intervention that is within my powers is not nearly as beneficial as if one party were to just stop caring about this BS and move on, so I say "heal thyself, physician" in that situation.

Let me explain the rule to you. The first part bans advocacy of illegal violence. That's self-explanatory.
The second part bans posting "other illegal activity." This is basically incriminating yourself by posting evidence of drug use, illegal firearms, etc.
Advocating for civil policies that are not law yet does not violate anything in R1. It isn't violent, and it's not illegal activity.
That would be fantastic and I encourage you to do that. I'd also encourage you to stop antagonizing people with your borderline "just keep voting" spam, because you can get hit for that too.
