Openly lying about other users when proof to the contrary has already been posted isn’t a hoax?
I specifically warned against looking like gaming the system, part of gaming the system is figuring out what the limits are so you can push right up next to them.
So no a month isn't enough, maybe the timeline could be adjusted down from that first estimate, but if you're going to appeal to authority to solve your problems then that also means you're ultimately deferring to their judgement too. That's why people like solving their own problems more.
That is not the spirit of the rule, the rule is to stop bad actors from shitting up the board with blatant misinformation about topics of real import and interest to the users and making them waste time trying to verify what turns out to obviously be nonsense. It's not there so we can be rules lawyered into moderating every little bitch fight to ensure perfect logic and honesty all around.
The community here just don't want those shackles. The ethos towards permitted speech here is and always has been laissez-faire, I'm only looking to intercede when the balance of pros and cons is very heavily pro on the side of intervening. And bluntly put, internet slap fights are only of real import to the slappers, almost nobody else really cares about this BS. Intervening will only benefit one person who cares and negatively affect another person who cares, functionally the pros and cons are only slightly imbalanced proportional to the how valued either party is. The intervention that is within my powers is not nearly as beneficial as if one party were to just stop caring about this BS and move on, so I say "heal thyself, physician" in that situation.

Everything [insert username here] says is false, because I say so.” And they can repeat that for every single user–or more pertinently, just the users posting objectively true content–for the sole purpose of well poisoning and misdirection away from actual conspiracy discussion?

No, absolutely not. I don’t expect–and wouldn’t want–you to be drawn into every exchange where people throw around glowstick/kike/fed/nigger/shill/fag/cuck/foreigner as mere insults. Those situations are obviously visible as, as you said, “bitch fights,” where it’s plain to any reader that the participants have neither weight nor specific motive behind the statements.
This isn’t that. This is blatant and purposeful lying, explicitly as libel to a specific person, solely to discredit a topic raised by the person because the topic hurts the feelings of the libeler.
Not replying doesn’t stop it. This has been proven in operation already. And in the real world, libel has consequences. It’s unacceptable that an account is allowed to spam blatant, directional lies as much as it wants when a rule explicitly bans the posting of lies.
Look, I'm telling you if you have some patience and prove some goodwill, and the continuation gets unreasonable after distancing from it I will consider the actions you want. I'm only telling you to wait because you have been antagonistic in the past, not just to him but the community in general with your whole just vote harder retards catchphrase spam. If you didn't have that history the margins on waiting would be much smaller, but it is what it is now.
This beef with you two is older than I care to investigate all the way back for who's been more of a dick overall. I'm not grandfathering in complaints from before I even took on this role, that's an infinite can of worms that I'm just not opening. Since I have been looking it has been a case of mutual antagonism which even if not perfectly equal is certainly not one sided enough to warrant wading in and swinging my dick around. Not replying isn't supposed to guaranteed stop it (although it truly often can), it's there to prove enough good faith on your part that there's no suspicion of just trying to get the mods to punish a guy you've wilfully antagonized. There's always the block function if you can't resist the temptation, I can even promise to keep an active eye on them for further behind-your-back goading attempts if you let me know you are taking that route.
As to the libel, most jurisdictions have a requirement of proven harm, as your identity is neither known nor has anyone else even taken up in supporting his theories about it, I think this hasn't nearly reached that level yet. Not that I'm an actual judge, I suppose it is your right to try and sue him with a real judge if you're not happy with my interpretation though.

Completely understandable. That’s why I already tried the “just don’t reply at all” route the moment I heard new mods were taking over, but it just kept going. That’s how I know it’s going to keep going now. Cheers, man.
