honestly i enjoyed the new star trek so far, its pretty clearly not the star trek universe but the liberal shit is so deranged that is seems like an intentional parody, i know its not intended as parody but i found it funny
like saying to use empathy when canon is that saying she is telling them to use empathy plants to cause apsolute fucking chaos and maybe kill a few people
"the burn" is really fucking stupid and needs to be retconned when star trek is back in the hands of someone who actually likes star trek
If Paramount takes Star Trek in another direction, then "the burn" (introduced in STD) will be ignored completely.
Secret Hideout (the production company) is co-owner of all of the new Star Trek. To make shows that even reference that material means that Secret Hideout must be involved.
Rumors are that Star Trek Academy is such an unwatchable flop, with such a shocking price-tag (more than $10 Million an episode) that Kurtzman and Secret Hideout are fired. Paramount is in so much debt, then can't afford to spend ten million an episode to destroy their most profitable franchise.
I suspect that going forward any new Star Trek projects will just pretend that Kurtzman Trek never happened.
I doubt that anyone cares anymore, but ... perhaps things might be less bad? This "Melrose Space" bullshit is the last straw for many.

Nothing new there, Kurtzman himself has been doing that since the intro to Star Trek movie comic that brought Data back only to then kill him offscreen in a retcon for Picard. Only to then bring him back again anyway!
Kurtzman wrote both the comic and movie, btw, it's not like different writers had different ideas Star Wars style.
Oh well, i still found it decent enough to watch while doing other stuff so who cares about subtext as long as its interesting enough with some funny bits, its not a fucking novel of high literature, its spaceslop, i like space and that bejoran was hot enough to make up for the rest of the women
I personally have no interest in trek after enterprise. Seems to be made by people who hate Star Trek or are clueless about it. I’d rather read sci fi books for my space fix at this point. I do have a bunch of trek books I haven’t read yet.
But if you enjoy it then have at it. Lgbt stuff at this point is an automatic no watch for me along with endless diversity/inclusion talk by showrunners and actors. I do love police academy movies which can be see. As mindless fun.
I just wish someone who didn’t hate Star Trek did an academy show. That could be interesting
Agreed with the last bit, I would rather read scifi too, even good fantasy or adventure but iv read pretty much anything im intrested in multiple times over, might as well try the new stuff and try and enjoy it for what it is, i didnt manage to make it though discovery but i think il manage this new one
I saw the Nerderotic review of episode 5. The holographic fat black chick is supposed to be an emissary between her holographic people and organics. Because the word emissary is used, she starts researching Sisko since he was "The Emissary" to the Bajorans. So the hologram talks to a Bajoran and a Cardassian. By the way the Cardassian is supposed to be the newest host of the Dax symbiote.

Not a coincidence.
The subtext of that episode was about toxic masculinity and how girls get it done.

There was a bajoran?
