All the garbage remakes and reboots make me so glad for the following:
Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, creators of the Back to the Future trilogy, hold a strict contractual agreement with Universal and Amblin Entertainment that prevents any remake or reboot during their lifetimes. They have maintained that a remake would only happen "over their dead bodies" and intend to block any attempts, ensuring the franchise remains untouched.

At least Christopher Tolkien wanted to maintain his father's legacy. Most estates don't even get that far.
guess he raised his kid right.. and it seems his grandkids are buggering it all away.

Sadly these guys can't live forever, so like with Tolkien these culture vultures will just keep circling any outliers.
I appreciate that but they're both in their 70s so it's only a matter of time.
