It’s a federal holiday and it’s been celebrated for a very long time. Even some non believers enjoy celebrating it. It was very common to hear Merry Christmas all over when I was growing up. How it became offensive is beyond me. The people who get so upset by it act like they are being forced to give their heart to Jesus

It was all fake outrage designed specifically to subvert society. No one cared about Merry Christmas. It was a deliberate attack on us by our enemies.

It's still crazy how so often in games "Merry Christmas" gets censored and translated as "happy holidays" like in Umamusume you hear the Japanese voice line clearly say merry christmas, but they changed the text.

Yes! I’ve noticed that too… like in Animal Crossing, it’s called “Toy Day” in western countries but “Christmas” in the original Japan version

https://animalcrossing.fandom.com/wiki/Toy_Day

It’s insane how a foreign country that has imported Christmas from the west is more willing to celebrate it by name than the western countries it came from. We live in such a shit culture now.

The culture is fine, where I work literally everyone says "Merry Christmas" (including the customers), I haven't heard a single "Happy Holidays" this year. It's not the culture it's the people who control the major companies and politicians.

It does depend on the area… in NYC you rarely if ever hear Merry Christmas, other than tourists

Since you brought up NYC specifically I assume you live there, be the change you want to see. Say "Merry Christmas" to every person you come across, but probably keep a gun on you, otherwise Muslims are liable to start stabbing you

Yeah some guy behind the register said "Happy Holidays" and I just said "Happy Holy days to you too"

I get fucking annoyed when someone says Happy Holidays - I say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year force which puts them on the spot.

They lived through cringe culture.

It's hard to use "social embarrassment" to get to them.

On the other hand they also gave us furries.

Kind of a mixed bag.

One of my favorite, subtle Smiling Friends gags had SATAN getting visibly annoyed that his Indian Doordasher told him happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas.
