Little follow-up on the Netflix story posted a few days ago:

That may be true, but on the other hand: Paramount is getting too powerful (CBS, Tiktok, now this), and what they're doing is a concerted effort to shut up the populist right.

Don't count the chickens yet. Netflix will regularly roll out something that people will consider "based" or "awesome" for the first season and then they get DEI-slapped for the subsequent seasons.
This isn't to say Landman isn't based (I wouldn't know, I don't watch TV anymore), but there is a common theme that media corps use to lure people in and then beat them over the head with some woke nonsense once people let their guard down.
I heard season 2 of Landman is the season of the simps. Haven't seen it myself so that could be wrong, but as you said that's how they do it so I wouldn't be surprised.
Every show nowadays goes full woke by season 2 or 3.

It really depends on how much of a difference there is between David and Larry Ellison. I'd rather the hyper-zionist who said, "Citizens will be on their best behavior because we are constantly recording and reporting everything that’s going on,” not have any hand in anything that could shape culture.
