What is the franchise that you wished Ubisoft has not ruin it?
Mine is Heroes of Might and Magic, HOMM5 was their debut and it was great.
They manage to reboot a series and make it very different from their predecessors with great success. That was an impossible task considering how popular HOMM3 was and is.
They had everything to build upon and they made it trash with each sequal including the current mobile looking, reddit humor money grab.
In the same world:
Dark Messiah was very much enjoyable. Maybe not balanced and jank but fun. They could have built upon but they didn't.
Might and Magic 10 was a mess but once fixed it was an ok first instalment for Might and Magic to continue. I doubt production costs can be that high and they could have made better sequels. The core was there and fans would have given it another chance.
It's a pretty obvious answer but Assassin's Creed of course. 1, 2, and Brotherhood were great, but I lost interest after that. People say Black Flag is good too, but I haven't played it.
I was interested in Mirage, the premise was good and I was hoping for non-woke since middle east isn't exactly known for feminism but they just couldn't help themselves make the main character in to a soyboy that ofc had to be saved by chain smoking girl boss.
I say fuck Assassin's creed. They killed and cannibalized the Prince of Persia series in order to create it in the first place. I would put Sands of Time over any AC game.
It didn't look very good, more like an emptier BOTW with worse graphics also described as the hero being "canonically female" despite not having a sequel seemed very much politically motivated.
Its more reddit quirky than woke, lots of quipping. I'm sure you could find something to fit the bill if you wanted but nothing stood out to me as egregious when I played it years ago.
But its the opposite of an emptier BOTW because its packed with actual stuff to do all over that is actually worth doing instead of being 1/4th of a health upgrade or a breakable weapon worse than what you already have. It actually runs into the problem at times of certain events overlapping because its so dense with challenges, puzzles and bosses in some areas.
Its certainly no masterpiece, and the constant dialogue from the narrators will make or break it for a lot of people, but its worth pirating if not the sub 15$ it usually gets sold for if you like the BotW formula.

Black flag is the best pirate game ever made. It amazes me no one else has copied the formula.
I'd put it 2nd to the Sid Meier games, but still pretty great.

Fenyx rising
Open world, but tight without a load of wasted space. Like breath of the wild, but without the crappy broken weapon thing, with a greek myth theme.
Only ubisoft game in ages that I thought was even decent.

Was it woke or is it worth pirating?

Prince of Persia Lost Crown is pretty good. I don't even like platformers but enjoyed it.
Pretty much every franchise they had.
