Almost every woman I've met that was "infertile" through means other than an actual surgical procedure was always just an assumption based on basically "well I've got X and Y that make it super hard so its close enough to 0" and then boom after running the gamble of being a human roasted turkey enough times they finally hit that 1 in 1000 chance.
