By definition, nobody in history has ever been free. Even the most despotic ruler in history must work somewhat for the people lest he end up disemboweled on a post by a hungry mob.

Here's the crux of it.

They're lying. Some of them know they're lying, the rest are too stupid to realize. Their actual definition of freedom is freedom from morality. Leftism is satanic.

The trick is to never, ever take what a leftoid says at face value. If their mouths are open they're lying.

It's the paradox of freedom. Cars gift us incredible amounts of freedom to swiftly move vast distances at will. Just so long as we stay on the roads and obey the traffic laws. Otherwise we end up stuck in the mud, or in horrible accidents that create blockages that impede everyone else.

Freedom comes with strings attached, but they're the strings of responsibility and reason.

They also require maintenance and get taxed at every opportunity, but the freedom and prosperity they create is worth the tradeoff.
