Seems like China didn't have that problem because they annihilated all their own culture less than a hundred years ago. That gave them a way to copy whatever was useful from the rest of the world without a second thought about if it was "genuine" or not.
China would've went extinct if it weren't for Nixon cutting a deal with Deng Xiaoping to offshore American manufacturing.

That very well could be. My point is they weren't frozen in time by the experience. No "factories are too White" bullshit. If Nixon had tried the same thing in Africa, enough machine parts would have been sold for scrap that they'd be in the same spot today.
