That doesn't make sense. It'd be easier to kill them after they've been deported back to Mexico. Nevermind that as far as I know cartel hitters don't kill themselves immediately.

Sure, but think about this for a second. The kind of random scumbag that gets picked up outside Home Depot in Dallas doesn't know anything worth sending a suicide sniper for.

it does feel like a hit of some kind. the bullets were engraved with "anti ice", which feels awfully convenient given that deranged shooters are engraving their bullets left and right in the new cycle recently. "anti-ice" feels horribly uncreative, and it was literally the only engraving on the bullet. No "fuck fascists" or "open borders" or "sic semper tyrannis" or anything creative that deranged shooters normally go for, just a very simple "I would like to formally inform you that my actions today are anti-ice, please file this with the appropriate office".
it feels like the shooter was trying to cover up their real motive.

They would absolutely copycat the assassin earlier this month, and they would absolutely do it halfassedly. And then kill themselves when they realize they'd be caught, because at heart the vast majority of them are cowards.
