That doesn't make sense. It'd be easier to kill them after they've been deported back to Mexico. Nevermind that as far as I know cartel hitters don't kill themselves immediately.

Sure, but think about this for a second. The kind of random scumbag that gets picked up outside Home Depot in Dallas doesn't know anything worth sending a suicide sniper for.
Maybe it wasn't just some random scumbag outside of home depot.
You're adding a lot of maybes when there are simpler possibilities.
