People here will never be happy enough. This is a great change.
Would I prefer it went further and yeeted every jeet in the tech industry? Sure. Do I want him to change policy on lots of other things too? Also yes.
But goddamn guys, this will cause a huge reduction in foreign workers stealing high paying jobs for pennies. So just be happy and take the win for once.
I will withhold celebration until such time as that huge reduction materializes and I think that's a perfectly reasonable stance to hold given the nature of politicians and the governmental machine's track record.
I'm waiting until Judge Boasberg rules the EO unconstitutional and then SCOTUS rules it's constitutional 5-4.

This is a good thing. And if the wording is true this applies to renewals as well, which would mean all the current H-1B's will have to be covered when they expire. Most companies cannot afford it and will have to cancel.

Which is great! my worry is thay companies that have the largest influence and impact on your life will still pay that all day every day without making a dent.
One point -- My original worry back when silicon valley decided to go on a foreign hiring spree was that (especially with America being more cohesive at that time) it's alot easier to tell a foreigner to do/ code nonAmerican/ anti American things.

Yea. I pay taxes. If the government decided they have taken "enough" taxes from me and suddenly stopped, I might give them a break, but as long as they're in my pocket they OWE ME.
