A leftist committed a heinous act of political violence against a conservative. Overwhelming public consensus is that this act was indefensible and reflected very poorly on leftism.
It would be very good for leftism, in this moment, if conservatives were considered to be equally violent.
It would be very bad for leftistm, in this moment, if conservatives were considered to be significantly less violent.
Therefore, conservatives are equally violent. Because that is the conclusion that is beneficial for leftism. The end.
This is how leftists process reality. They choose a comfortable and beneficial conclusion, and then they ignore all contradictory evidence that might invalidate it.
"Processing reality" is a bit of a generous descriptor but, yes, you're completely correct.
Except, in the leftist view of things, the right is not equally violent, they're much more violent. And the left isn't violent at all. Ignore all the leftist violence, that's neither here nor there. It's the right that's violent.
It's all so tiresome.
It's more like, the left projects themselves on to others. They are evil and want to cancel and kill everyone so they assume everyone else is wants to cancel and kill everyone. The left assumes the right cheats in elections because the left actually does cheat, And they assume everyone else is just as shitty as they are.
To be clear, I still believe in reaching across the aisle to those who can still be reached.
But we have to get much more vocal about calling out nonsense like this. We don't change our own principles to try to appeal to people who hate us and want us dead. Stop trying to curry favor with our enemies. Stop weakening our own position to reach out to people who don't respect us as humans, and will never side with us, even on common ground. These demons will cut off their own nose to spite their face; they will disagree with their own positions to avoid agreeing with us. Meanwhile these fucks who want leftist approval will disagree with their own position to agree with their enemies.
And I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I think this is important. We're seeing a major shift, and we need to hammer it home. Again, if we can reach common ground with some, we should. But no more ceding ground. No more backtracking. If there's an issue we agree on, we can work with our enemies on that...if we don't give up anything. We can't change our positions to prove to the demons that we're not the demons. That's not how it works.
All of their terrible policies and arguments boil down to "sad thing happened, now do what we want".
If we don't accept their victimhood and whining then they have nothing. We don't have to have a fight about trans bathrooms or 'hold our ground', that's all nonsense that only exists from exploiting our compassion. They paint a sad story about trans being bullied in the men's locker room and say so we have to let them perv on women, but when we just say "trans are bullied? don't care, don't be trans" their ideology collapses.
This is what Kirk did, he said it was their choice to be victims and offered them redemption instead of suffering, and didn't accept their pity plays. Same thing Myron Gaines does, only far less politely - no excuses, personal responsibility, accountability - you can be strong and healthy and successful if you choose to be.
That's the successful message. No whining, no flop falls, no pity plays allowed. Then the policy issues fix themselves.
It's deeply tragic and frustrating that they've controlled culture for so long. They, being communists, had the training and the backing, and completed the long march through the institutions. It's understandable, but no less enraging. Society is in much worse shape, since these termites were allowed to run roughshod for so long.
He did a lot, and no one on either side can pin him down to one thing, but you're correct. I wasn't even a viewer, but it is incredibly sad they killed the moderate. He just seemed like such a good dude. Honest and fair. He wasn't hateful, he'd engage with anyone, but stood his own ground. That's what I'm asking for too.
I hope Myron keeps at it, and improves. His stuff's funny but...he's not there yet. His debating sort of sucks and, even if I think he's correct, he's not making his arguments well. But everyone starts somewhere, and very few people lose debating skills when they debate more. He can only go up.

When I went to college in the 00s, leftists were douches, but not crazy. Since then all the sane ones are now Trump the supporters and the remaining Democrats are insane & violent.
I'm just saying, I don't want to write every single one of our opponents off because, as I've said in another comment recently, that way lies madness. If there's no room for debate, the only option is violence and oppression.
The important thing is not to bend in our own convictions, and not to try to transform into something we're not, to get the left to like us. Fuck that shit. That was always retarded, and people fell for it because the left owned the media and other institutions, after their long march. People, even conservatives, were brainwashed to think leftists were correct in some way, because they were so mainstream. "It's popular, so we should appeal to it."
But if we can stay true to our beliefs, and some of the left shares that belief, we can work with them. The important thing is not surrendering anything in the process. Don't try to please leftists, because you can't. We've seen what makes some of them happy. But I'm not completely opposed to working with them. I just think it's important to call out the retards on our own side who want to play by their framing, and cozy up to them. Nah. Fuck that, we're done.
