No "Conservative" party existed in the province of British Columbia for a long time, which is Canada's Washington State/Oregon.
The right-leaning, centrist party was called the BC Liberal Party. Their opponents were the BC New Democratic Party (Champagne socialists) & the BC Green Party (wackos on bikes).
The BC Liberal Party held power for some time but became a scandal-plagued, unpopular, dead brand. The BC NDP came back to power again after they similarly had a long time in the wilderness for similar issues.
After losing a few elections, the BC Liberals think their brand is dead at a time when Trudeau & the federal Liberals are very unpopular. They rebrand as BC United.
In the run-up to the last election, there's a vacuum on the center-right as the NDP are in power & incompetent (see COVID) but the BC United brand is still dead. John Rustad helps to fill the void by creating a new "Conservative" party in BC to eat up some this demand.
The election is decently close but the NDP maintain power. Rustad's Conservative party eats up the old centrist support lost by the BC Liberals to become the official opposition.
The author of this tweet, Dallas Brodie, becomes a ?Vancouver MLA for Rustad's new upswing party.
She almost immediately gets turfed from the party immediately because she questions the hoax "hundreds of dead, unexcavated Indian residential school children buried in mass graves" narrative pushed by Trudeau in Kamloops, BC 4-5 years ago for craven political gain. A new lie of national original sin, a commemorative national holiday, more cash settlement handouts and hundreds of rural Christian churches burn because some fraud leftist academic says some anomalies on Ground Penetrating Radar on the school grounds in an old apple orchard are missing & murderered Indian children.
