Just seems strange there was just one shot. I'd expect a random college student amateur with a hate boner to fire more than once and not have enough self control to realize the first hit was a kill and immediately flee.

You misunderstood me. It's not strange that a fanatical leftist college kid would shoot someone. That's not just believable it's completely normal. Just look at Antifa. They're extremely violent but also quite incompetent. What is strange is that they would be so professional about it. Shoot once, see the target is 100% dead and immediately bolt. All within a few seconds. You're probably right that it was a lucky shot and not intentional. But that makes it feel even more like the work of someone who knew what they were doing.
Someone who knows what they're doing will look like the Seth Rich killings.
