I'd rather trust secondary indicators at this point. Show me that men's underwear purchases are down and I'll take that as evidence we're in a recession.

This is only a part of the picture. It shows how many are employed (mostly to bigger businesses.) To get a full picture of how the employment sector is looking is new businesses started and those on unemployment.

In the bigger picture, people have started their own businesses instead of being hired by big corpos. The entrepreneur spirits have begun to sing since the lockdowns and people aren’t going back.
