Rep Thomas Massie : White House says helping me secure a vote to release all the Epstein files is a “Hostile Act.” They’re threatening anyone who helps bring true transparency and justice for the survivors. This is a tacit admission the Oversight Committee data release is woefully incomplete. (twitter.com)

I'm listening to the press conference now and I'm actually losing sympathy for the victims. It's all self-congratulatory "me, me, me" bullshit sprinkled with vague accusations, absolutely nothing new, concrete, or actionable.

When a reporter actually asked them if they could name any names, they got hostile to the reporter and responded with, "why should we? Why does it have to be us? Nobody has supported us!" It's a fucking joke. Look, bitch, it has to be you because YOU ARE THE ONES WITH THE INFORMATION.

And yeah, of course Trump is calling it a hoax because people keep accusing him of being "in" them (a nice vague term that can mean whatever the hearer wants it to mean) and Pam Blondie is whispering in his ear that they've been tainted by the Biden admin. Hell, at this supposedly non-partisan press release, there was a whole sea of signs behind the podium accusing Trump of being a pedophile.

The whole goddamn situation is a clusterfuck. I had high hopes for Massie but he and the rest of them (Ro Kanna, MTG, and the other Republican attention whores who worked on it) just made everything even worse with this stupid nothingburger of a press conference.

Anyone who says they have smoking gun-tier evidence but refuses to immediately release it is fucking useless, and that includes “victims”. If you want people held accountable, and you know who they are, then you need to fucking say them. On television.

Just finished listening to it and it just gets worse.

It was a gigantic waste of time. There was NOTHING NEW.

Now, in addition to Trump, Pam Blondie, Kash, and Bongino, I have to add Massie and MTG to the list of people who I generally like (well, not so much Blondie) but have fucked up in relation to the Epstein shit.

It's really unfortunate because Massie is objectively a smart guy, but libertarianism just totally ruins even the smart guys. Just look at Elon and his incoherent politics.

Probably because they aren't suicidal. Remember Kappy?

So what are we supposed to do? What was the point of the press conference? For anyone who bothered to listen to it, they basically admitted that it was a therapy session.

Ok, that's great. How does that help anything at all?

I have to admit, I'm in the same camp.

If anyone knows who did it, the victims should know and they should be openly stating it.

I get the fear about being suicided...frankly there is significant chance they will "suicide" you anyway so...

Demand the evidence be released, which would make it safe for witnesses to speak up?

Lol you stupid fuck, if they were going to kill them they'd kill them right now anyways for even attempting to say that they had information and that they were willing to release it.

Way easier to smear them as loons and attention whores. If they don't have physical evidence, then the most they can do is make themselves liable for a defamation suit.

It's all self-congratulatory "me, me, me" bullshit

Reminder that the original named girl that was part of Epstein's first investigation willingly kept going back for the money and helpfully brought more girls as well to get them money too.

People threw the word pedo around a lot with this case, so much so that they lost sight of the fact that almost all known victims were Teens with just enough agency to make this situation worse for themselves. But because women, they will never take an ounce of reflection and accept that. Not when there is more money to be made.

So we get things like this, where we circlejerk endlessly about victims that have no interest in justice. And people who only pretend to care so they can take down their rival politicians, and couldn't name a victim to save their life.

The press conference arranged by The House of Representatives?

Or did they arrange their own separately?
