EDIT: And just to be clear, this isn't even a value judgement. This isn't "Nazis good." This is...post war was a massive cultural tipping point, where I'd argue power was seized from the previous order, and a new world order emerged. Basically everyone back then had more in common with the midcentury Germans than they would with....wherever we are now.
