Definitely, because it's not going to be some "transference of human consciousness" like an anime or some drivel.
Some people really believe that shit.
I blame Microsoft, for getting people used to the idea of 'moving' files when really a copy is made and then the original is deleted. And then it's just another small step of thinking about the mind like files.
Only if moved between devices. When you "move" files within the same drive, the data stays exactly where it is and only the directory structure data is updated.
The game Soma operated on the premise you described, but it was definitely sinister in the sense that the people who thought the were having their consciousness "transferred" were really just being copied and killed.
With the whole head transplant being worked on who is to say brain transplant isn't being worked on?
