Or plays. Or acting. Or amphitheatres. Cameras. Microphones. Speakers. Television. Magnetic tape. Compact disks. Computers. Internet. Compression algorithms. Streaming algorithms.
If I go on I may wear out a few more keys on my keyboard they also didn't invent.
400 yrs ago nobody had Cameras. Or Microphones. Speakers. Television. Magnetic tape. Compact disks. Computers. Internet. Compression algorithms. Streaming algorithms.
They did have stories, songs, dances, etc so it wasn't like they had no cultural performances- kinda weird they're culturally appropriating English culture and that they love it so much they're willing to burn the province to the ground to do it.
Just a fun bit of pedantry. The film camera, capable of recording a fixed image directly is almost 200 years old. But the camera obscura, where they used the same concepts to project an image onto a manually traceable medium is over 400 years old.

You mean the play they stole and then ratted up with indian tropes?
Isn't the whole point of the "first nation" is that they had existing practices, culture, and stores to perform? Why do they need to "indigenize" shit?

I Ho'pe you go Fuc'k yourselves.
"It just fits the scene for the entire play because they're shipwrecked on an island and here we are in the woods as they would be on the island."
On Wednesday, they found out that the park's main trail would be open, but any secondary, wooded trails would be closed, including those leading to Shakespeare by the Sea stages.
kek. Yea.. really "fits the scene" to be in a government park, paid for by taxpayers, that has to be closed, because your "first nation" refuses to help us "manage fires." It's a lot like being shipwrecked.
"We missed two full days of rehearsal in the park, which meant we had to cancel performances in order to make up for them, but hopefully it won't impact our audience too much," said Stone.
Yea.. where'o'where would you practice your drum session?! It's not like there's fucking ACRES of woods around. You're not even wearing costumes. Just standing around like assholes in the woods banging drums and ruining Shakespeare.
Seriously and to top it off they are doing an indigenous version of Shakespeare??
TBF they can't do indigenous plays from 400 yrs ago as they never developed a written language.

A very abridged list of what they didn't invent. Probably the list of what they "invented" is quite small
Teepees, kayaks, moccasins...about all I can think of.
What they not only didn't invent but didn't figure out- the wheel.
