I don’t think that’s why the movie’s failing or bad, though that is bad. I actually heard it’s not particularly woke in that way. It’s more that it’s not really a Superman movie. He spends most of the movie getting beat up it seems. I think at one point he cries or something.
The point of DC superheroes is to have someone to look up to. Superman is about American values being enacted with unlimited power, but they didn’t even really make him very super from what I heard in the reviews, so the American values part is the least of the film’s problems. On top of all that, people say it’s just very mediocre, and James Gunn does what he usually does and made it closer to another Guardians of the Galaxy movie, only he didn’t even do that end well.
I hear it’s not even bad, it’s just entirely forgettable.
And his origin story of parents who sacrificed themselves to save their son so he can live a life where he selflessly protects those who took him in was replaced with a mandate of conquest and demographic replacement. There's still a distinct possibility that in the sequel it'll be retconned that Lex Luthor deepfaked that message to slander Superman, but the access media are all treating it as legit for now.
Superman gets beat up all the time you faggot. Yall don't actually read Superman. There are things to complain about in the movie but that isn't one of them
So I've paid no attention at all. What's controversial about it?
Superman says "truth, justice and peace" or some generic faggotry instead of "truth, justice, and the American way"
James Gunn and his flacks pushed the idea that Superman is an immigrant. I needn't say more

And he is being beaten up, crying, weakened and mocked.
Sounds about right, really.

Does he take a knee for BLM and put his kids in a drag show to be "progressive" too?
