Yes, I meant plane terror attacks. I don't even remember the last one.
Eh, we have plenty of security theater, just not this kind.
Recently, the EU mandated a maximum of 100ml per liquid storage unit, even though airports have invested huge sums in devices that supposedly make that limit obsolete.
That said, it's only a matter of time before 'innocuous' things like powerbanks and laptops cause a major accident.
The reason Europe hasn't had any plane related terror attacks is the same reason we haven't had any major successful attacks since 9/11, and it isn't due to TSA bullshit or not. It's because 9/11 got every airline to finally pull their heads out of their asses and start locking the cockpit doors to prevent highjackings.
It also had the side benefit of getting passengers to instantly panic and beat the shit out of anyone who even looks like they might be getting up to some shit, rather than being docile sheep led to slaughter. It's a perfect example of a problem being solved from the ground up, which is the only way they ever get solved.

I need to stop tempting fate by talking about good things. I say there's not been a plane-related terror attack, and the very next day there's this.
Batteries actually are a genuine hazard on planes, unlike the rest of that nonsense.
Not that I care overmuch either way. I don't fly, for a number of reasons. Foremost of which is that my wife would get into a fistfight with the TSA if we tried.
