I wouldn't say at anywhere near the same level as Biden but, yes, it does feel like the ol' God Emperor has lost a few steps, cognitively speaking. Personally, I think the stress finally got to him. He held up amazing well for a US President in his first term, but seems to be falling apart now.
It could also be temporary, too. He's got a lot on his plate, which is not excusing any of his current behavior, but he's under a lot of stress specifically right now. Especially with what must be going on behind the scenes. It does seem like him and Bibi were butting heads, and they might have gotten explicit with Trump about who wears the pants. Trump likes being in charge, and a bunch of people have clearly been jerking his chain hard. He's furious and confused, and is lashing out in boomer rage, and generally behaving like a retard.
Again, not excusing his behavior, and I find his recent actions atrocious. But he's no Biden.
Yeah, people shouldn't discount "brain fog". It's a real thing that can happen to young guys too if they get burn out. I've heard of Investment Bankers who've worked so much while simultaneously having tons of anxiety from how bad the treatment is from their bosses that their brains just kinda shutdown and they had difficulty thinking. As soon as they quit their job it went away.
I know it's nice (especially for us Europeans) to stack all our 4-6 vacation weeks in the summer but I feel like it would be more healthy for the body and mind to spread your weeks out more evenly throughout the year.
There is this concept for athletes called "deload weeks" and what science has understood is that if you constantly stress your body with training your body needs to FULLY recover in order to resume more rapid progress.
Basically you take an entire week off every 4-8 weeks and take 2 weeks off from intense training once a year to completely recover the body. It's a bit more detailed than that, but that's the gist of it.
Sure wish I had vacation days this year to take off from loading trucks.
Too bad my previous boss fucked me over by giving me twice the PTO last year, and now the company is punishing me for his mistake by taking it away this year.
Every senior worker I've ever had that had 5+ weeks of vacation for their time at the company basically just did once a month weeks off, and said it was the best use possible. Short of banking them for a mega vacation somewhere, its a regular and constant de-stress that prevents you from ever truly "needing" one.
I've had 4 10 work schedules before, and just having a three day weekend every week is a night and day difference in terms of stress and exhaustion. Shit even when it was like a Wednesday off meaning it was 2 and 2 days spaced, it made a difference.
Regardless of anyone's politics, he is a decade older than his first term and has been in constant "fight" mode that entire time. That would decay the mental faculties of anyone.
Even Obama and Bush went full grey by the end of their terms.

There's also the simple fact that Trump is the first President to have served 9 years after his first in office since FDR.
Lack of rest.
