He's a single issue voter. I get the frustration, but I don't agree. Trump is better than AOC, and to pretend AOC won't also continue to sell out is silly.
Personally, I'm not flipping - I don't see myself ever voting for a Democrat, in their current form - but I'm also much less inclined to support the Republicans, as they've failed and backstabbed massively time and time again. The hope I had for them growing more fully into the MAGA Party, has mostly evaporated, as they've shown they can't be trusted in the slightest.
Unless we have another great sounding candidate, or a really bad candidate I want to vote against...I'll probably vote third party now. Libertarian, or a fringe hardcore based candidate, if we get one. The Republicans have lost almost all their credibility so, while I won't support the Dems, I can't trust the Republicans either.
I don't want the Republicans to lose like Mods, but I also can't really care enough to vote for them in good conscience. Fuck the uniparty. Yeah, Trump is doing good on some issues, but he's also seemingly being a massive fucking traitor on other very important issues.
I can't stand traitors. And both parties are full of them. Fuck 'em.
This guy is a glowie, or at least glowie adjacent.
But an intelligent case can be made for not supporting Republicans, because if you back them unconditionally (which is not what you're saying) "because they're less evil than the Dems" - the lesser of the two evils will get more evil every time, as they can get your vote for granted. That is how you get to be the European "center-right", which just means far-left.
I think the wisest course is the one you outline: vote in primaries, vote for good or at least not awful Republicans (because 95% of Republicans can't be classified as 'good').

Eh, everyone has to glow from time to time. People are frustrated, and there were already a bunch of people predisposed to dooming. I don't agree with him, but doesn't mean I'll write him off as a glowie either.
I'm not basing just on his comments here. He glows REALLY hard. Reminds me of people here who were saying "don't bother voting GOP, they'll steal it anyway".
People are frustrated
No one more than me, who in the past 1.5 month had Trump almost send 10 million refugees towards me, now support the endless war in fake Ukraine, and this.
Still, "I hope Democrats win huge majorities" is stupid, because the reading of that will be that Trump was too right-wing.
Let's be honest here. When it comes to voting you have the choice between 'fast annihilation' and 'slower annihilation'. Of course it's better to vote for 'slower' but if voting is all you going to do the outcome will not change.
Libertarians are terrible on borders. They have good economic policies in general, but they have this "live and let live" attitude that lets bad actors infiltrate and destroy from within.
Some libertarians are retarded on borders. Not the ones I like, promote, or would vote for. "Libertarian" is a broad tent, and some are retarded leftist Redditor faggots. I'd argue that they're not even libertarian, but that gets a bit Scotsman-y.
But there's also a libertarian argument for strong borders, and it's actually at the core of libertarianism; property rights. If a country is the property of its people, you should protect it. Just like it would be unjust to force someone to live in your house, your government letting people come live in your country is not libertarian. Especially if you're also forced to pay for it. The more rightwing libertarians are perfectly fine on the border question.
