Vance was created, you don’t get a Hollywood movie extolling you unless you’re a puppet. Vance is going to be the ultimate diversity republican, he’ll say the right things about being “conservative” while we get infinity immigration and palantir being the patriot act 2.0, but far far more insidious. Trump sold out, hate to break it to you.
They were pimping his book because it was a way to say "see, we also care about the white working class", when of course they don't.
This is like saying that because Trump was universally beloved by Hollywood and the left before 2015/2012, he is a sellout himself. In fact, I'm pretty sure Vance is more solid than Trump, even though this recent war stuff was a bit of a gut-punch.
That was also back when Vance was pretty on the fence about Trump and saw him as a corrupt billionaire who hated Americans and would screw them over. Many of his proposed economic solutions to the problem were tolerable to the Left/Hollywood, so they could hold their nose and stomach anything else he believed.
Much like Trump, it was only after he got elected to represent Ohio and showed that he was now a political threat that they turned against him.
Thiel is to Vance as Cohn was to Trump. Both were mentored by rich, gay jews.

I will say though that of all the options T considered, JD Vance seemed the best to me. He seemed to be hitting it out of the park until this recent war fiasco.
