Years ago in High School, had a fantastic political science teacher
He would be called based today (would also never be hired being a white male). Caucasian, in his 40s, devout Catholic
Was also a football coach, students loved him
He had a Socratic teaching style
I memorably recall one student in the class, super liberal girl, she was the protoype of things to come
She got into an argument with him early on in the school year about Immigration
Her argument was the usual shitlib concept of infinity migrants and what about empathy
He let her go on for a bit about "lets turn bombs into bowls to feed the hungry"
At the end of her rant, he asked her
"I see you're very passionate about this. So what are YOU going to specifically do about it?"
She fired back with a bunch of hypotheticals about what should be done, he cut her off
"I'm not asking what you THINK should be done. I am asking what actions you are going to demonstrably take to make these things happen"
She didn't have an answer.
He left it at that, (and his point was not embarrass her)
He segued into a discussion on objective political action requiring organization, policy agenda, donor funding, getting in contact with actual policy makers and representatives and time invested.
It was educational.
I think back to that conversation. When you see people constantly up in arms about the Current Political Thing giving hot takes and what they wish would happen.
Wishful thinking is meaningless.

Spicy take. This is why I think the 2nd amendment is a bad thing for America. Because it lets people sit back and proclaim "We have all the guns therefore we'd win any civil war" and just wait for the death squads to arrive.
Interesting take. Even still, I'd rather have the means of self defense when the time comes, then be disarmed and have even less of a chance when the death squads roll up.
Exactly what I'm talking about. I didn't mention disarming or anything to insinuate that but you just resorted to it as a talking point which shut down all other thinking and reasoning.
...Without the Second Amendment, they will IMMEDIATELY come for every gun. Disarming is not a question of "if" when it comes to corrupt government. (But I repeat myself.)

With regards to the populace having the ability to remind our evil overlords who's boss? No. Without civilians who are armed to the teeth and capable of retaliating if pushed too far, everything else becomes moot as the government and military have literally no reason not to go full totalitarian. It's why they HAVE to resort to these subversive tactics. They can't risk open war with the civilians.
How would the J6 defendants have worse outcomes if they weren't armed or there wasn't a 2nd amendment?

This has been my mantra for a while. I only respect people who act upon their ideals. I know a lot of people who say Hitler was right but in practice still live their lives exactly as any other jew loving faggot because 'that's just how things are right now'.
Mostly it just requires money. Lots and lots of money. Lobbyists don't work cheap, you know.

Israel probably blew the better part of a half billion dollars in anti ballistic missiles alone, much less jp5, bombs, etc. in in the last two weeks.
And that's not even getting into airframe hours, which has a high cost, especially for some of the older air frames.
Besides that, nato is about the north Atlantic (but I guess nobody remembers that part), why should Israel even be related to this conversation? Europe is freaking out about Russia, and then didn't want to pay for their own defense (even as they buy Russian natural gas, which is hilarious).

Also, fun fact, Israel spends more than 5% yearly on defense. This is their budget, mind you, and doesn't include any foreign aid money/supplies.

I don't have an issue with that. We spend way too much on foreign aid when we have both problems at home that could be solved with additional funds and a budget problem we could use the money for.

The anti ballistic missiles are mostly their manufacturing though, they have domestic lines. Our thaad missiles might be getting paid for, I'm unsure and don't have a clear source either way.
