His establishing shots in the Dune movies were so long, that the combined run time of the 2 movies was equal to the 3 part Dune miniseries on Scifi, which were largely accurate to the books, and even included extra material, whereas Villeneuve's movies left out a ton of material, and changed a lot.
That's why I absolutely despite Dunc in every way possible. It's even worse than the 1984 Dune cinema cut. I rather watch blocky shields and sound guns than a Dune 'adaptation' that forgets to include the Spacing Guild and with it breaks the entire story. Captain Picard charging into battle holding a pug is infinitely better than expressionless Timothee twink and Zendaya.
Writing was shit, costume and set designs were uninspired and boring as fuck, forgettable soundtrack, for the most part terrible casting, horrendous writing, muted color palette, plenty of internal errors like shooting lasers at shielded stuff.
Well I guess the CGI and cinematography for the most part were good.

Hey now, Duncan Idaho did nothing wrong. And then did nothing wrong again. And then did nothing wrong yet again. And again, and again, and aga-
Oh that was a typo, nevermind :p
Mini series and Children of Dune wasn't bad. Certainly better than the recent attempt.
No, Dunc wasn't a typo. I don't consider those movies to be Dune in any way. Look at the font they were using. It's Dunc.
They're actually the best Dune adaptions by far.
I would not condemn the new Dune in its entirety. It did do some things well, even if those things don't make up for the errors of judgement.
