I was having a similar argument with some Europeans regarding tariffs. Our point being that most European imports fall are essentially sold as premium products in the US. The guy buying a $150k Porsche, yeah he can swing it being a $175k Porsche. Those that can’t, well there’s a large selection of American made cars available. None of it is a tax on the rich that matters, their accountant will sort that out and whatever tax comes out oh well whatever. Nor is it a tax on the poor because they don’t buy shit. It’s all in the middle.
