The first season did quite well, normies ate it up and even a lot of "anti-woke" grifters tried to defend it. It was bad for a lot of obvious reasons, but not so bad that the normie masses wrote it off entirely. Probably helps that it adapted the decent story of the first game.
No one is really watching season 2, for the same reason they didn't enjoy the second game. The viewer dropoff after Joel died is laughably huge, and you don't even have the sorta-hotness of Ellie to carry you with this goblina playing her.
I actually remember "anti-woke" people enjoying it now that you mention it. I always found that baffling because, even if it didn't suck, we know what happens to Joel.
That's probably why I enjoyed it aside from the episode this image is taken from. I had no idea what happened and never played the game. I only read the plot summary of the game after I had finished. As soon as I saw that Joel get unceremoniously killed by even dumber characters I had no plans to watch the second season.
Anyways.. this character sucks.. and this actress was dog shit.. but at least.. she didn't blink when she shot.
The thing about the second season is that it didn't need to be necessarily based on the second game. That's why a lot of people gave it a shot. They had no idea that they would move so fast with the hormone therapy-fueled lesbian-man rage-fest.
I think some people were so happy to see a positive father being portrayed they forgave a lot.
But he only because Pedro doesn't look entirely white.
