it's amazing the entitlement of these people. they literally think receiving free money from the ether is a human right.
"Not giving us free government money to figure out how to best censor you is censorship"
"DEI research and research into censoring people is definitely the same as MRIs and Bluetooth"
"Misinformation research is vital to advancing communism. Constantly cataloging our citizens beliefs and then tailoring "the message" to best manipulate them is an increasingly important activity given our massive 21 trillion dollar bet on destroying America."
And holy shit.. these retards are claiming that "reverse auctions" are the outcome of publicly funded science? Like, if the government didn't pay for it, we would have NEVER figured it out?
Half of America has fucking Peter Pan syndrome.
I swear, we can solve A lot of problems if EVERYONE received one punch to the face
As this sounds like someone who's biggest problem is no avocados for their toast..

One punch to the face, plus being required to live in a majority black neighborhood for a short period of time.
I'll agree if they at least are given a handgun during their stay.
I trained in the always underfunded Psych field, and it was well known even in your undergrad that your entire life is a cycle of "sell yourself to a company to do research for their money, use that money to fund the study you are passionate about."
These guys are so used to basically getting to live the good life of always doing their PhD on Feminist Breakdance Therapy they didn't realize how privileged they were.
It's interesting how sites like Ars Technica and Techdirt have gone from tech news to mainstream left-wing politics. I guess there's no money in tech news anymore and they need clickbait.
I've been considering starting a tech news site in the style of sites like Ars Technica back in their heyday. It seems to me that there are very few sites left that capture the kind of technical depth, approachability, and fun.
